Spaniel Ear Care
Spaniels have a big weakness - their Ears.
Because they dash off rummaging in undergrowth they often come back with seeds,grass,mud and less savoury things in their ears.
HERE IS A VITAL HINT ...
When a Spaniel turns and looks at you and gives a sly grin and lowers one shoulder take notice ...
That means they are about to roll in something absolutely DISGUSTING (Usually that will be POO ! )
That gets down their ears too.
Dogs cannot help doing this - it is a kind of camouflage of their smell. Huning dogs especially do this as they believe that prey will not smell them when they get near.
They have Long Ears and Ear Wax builds up inside them.
The remedy is ear wax cleaner on a soft cotton wool ball wiped out gently.
DO NOT use cotton wool buds as these can damage the ears.
Any swelling inside the ears needs professional advice from a vet.
The Ears will also get badly tangled and need brushing every day to avoid matted hair.
