I have all of Sarah Hodgson’s books and an thrilled with her latest “Dog Tricks and Agility For Dummies”. Sarah’s approach to dog training is insightful, kind and compassionate – more Supernanny than pack leader and she applies that same perspective to teaching your dog tricks in this book. The book is well organized, moves from the basic behavior issues that need to be tackled and adds tricks and maneuvers that increase in complexity, is very thorough and easily understood and executed in the yard with my dog. I took the book to the park and was using it as a reference – and instantly became the envy of others in the dog run! Sarah writes with authority and humor and gave me confidence to teach my dog tricks! I highly recommend this book!

Ms. Hodgson has done it again. This is a perfect book for dog lovers to explore new opportunities for fun with their canine. The author breaks down various “tricks” into steps so that one can teach their pooch fun antics (including pray; sleep; wipe their face with disgust or disdain; commando crawl). The second section discusses agility training for pleasure or competition, including approaches and techniques that keep the exercises fun, positive and more effective than suggestions in other books I have read. Highly recommend this author and book.
