How to Remove a Tick
First find your tick !
Its the tick season again.
They are generally found on either the head or short body hair of a spaniel.Pay particular attention to the areas around the eyes and the top of the head.
Get a clear plastic or glass container for disposing the tick later.
Using two fingers , stretch the skin around the tick until it is fairly tight. While holding that sking tight, ,Grasp the BODY of the tick between the other hand using two fingers.Hold the tick body gently - it will feel like flesh. Slowly rotate the body of the tick anti-clockwise and pull upwards at the same time.
Drop the tick into the container. Take it for a walk outdoors and BURN it ! Do not tread on it or it will lay eggs and you will be infested with the little devils.
Smear SAVLON or a similar antiseptic Cream over the area where the tick has bitten.
Check for other ticks.
Job done ! Hurrah !!
Try to keep your spaniel out of long wet grass . ticks love it ...
