Dog Agility Training

This is a very popular new hobby that brings the dog and owner even closer together.Agility training is getting the dog to perform a set sequence of tasks and making it enjoyable.

Spaniels are really good at agility training as they are both intelligent and keen to please their owner.

Agility training definitely increases the bond between owner and dog and makes the dog easier to control in many situations.

Although many peple think that this is just a form of obedience training, it is in fact training of both the dog and the owner to react to a series of set signals that the dog will recognise as instructions to perform a sequence of action either with an agility tunnel, agility ladder or set of agility poles (that the dog weaves in and out of)

Dog shows have made this immensely popular and there are excellent prizes for well trained dogs at major dog shows.

These contests consist of a series of obstacles the dog must go through or over and a set number of tasks it must perform accurately and speedily.

Before an agility training class will acept your dog for training though it must have been trained to a basic standard (sit, stay, come etc)

This is to ensure that it will not be disruptive to other dogs in the class.
After training all you will need is basic agility training equipment
